Aloha Installation Guide
Please carefully read all instructions to successfully complete the installation. Images have been provided to assist with completion, however some images can differ due to the different versions of Aloha being installed.
Critical directions are highlighted in red because they need to be followed correctly.
Step 1:
A zip folder named SessionM Installer will have downloaded. Extract all files from the zipped folder to the Back of House computer before proceeding with the installation.
The files must be extracted before running the installer.
Step 2:
Once the files have been extracted, open the new folder and right-click POS.Installer.Slim.exe and Run as Administrator.
The installer must be ran as administrator to properly install.
Step 3:
Review the minimum requirements to confirm all have a Green Check Mark before continuing the installation. If all marks are Green then click Next.
All conditions must have a Green Check Mark for the installation to successfully complete. Please escalate if one or more of the conditions fail the check.
Step 4:
Review the required ports to confirm all have a Green Check Mark before continuing the installation. If all marks are Green then click Next.

Step 5:
Confirm the IP Address and Port are selected then click Next.
Step 6:
The installer will automatically run. Once finished, click Next.
Step 7:
Click Run Program to launch the Aloha Config Tool.
Minimize the SessionM Installer until instructed to maximize it on Step 30 below. The SessionM Configure Tool will now open and will be used until Step 30.
Step 8:
Sign into the Aloha Manager with an account that has POS and above access. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
In Aloha Manager click Save each time after making changes.
Step 9:
In Aloha Manager, select Maintenance > Business > Store. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 10:
- On the SessionM Configuration Tool, click to copy the text specified.
- Once copied, on Aloha Manager select Store Settings tab at the top and the Systems tab at the bottom, find an empty External Integrated Software Component slot and paste the copied text.
- Click Save in Aloha Manger.
- Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 11:
In Aloha Manager select Maintenance > Payments > Comps. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 12:
In Aloha Manager, click New at the top right of the Comps Panel. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 13:
The SessionM Configure Tool will walk you through setting several fields.
- Name: LoyalTree
- Check Name: LoyalTree
- Method: Prompt for amount
- Maximum Amount: 999.00
- Active Check Box: Checked
- Report As: LoyalTree (Clicking Save may be required before editing this field).
Remember the circled Comp Number.
Step 14:
- Click Save.
- In Aloha Manager, click the Restrictions tab. The settings here will vary between locations and various versions of Aloha. The Store Manager should know the correct settings for these fields. The image below is provided as an example.
- Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 15:
- Click the Eligibility tab.
- Select LoyalTree from the Comp dropdown at the top of the panel.
- Eligible Items set to All Items.
- Enter the Comp Number from Step 13 into the LoyalTree Configure Tool.
- Then click Next on the LoyalTree Configure Tool.
Step 16:
In Aloha Manager select Maintenance > Screen Designer > Quick Service Screen Designer (or Table Service Screen Designer). Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 17:
Click Work with Panels. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 18:
Choose Panel > Open Panel. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 19:
Search for a row labeled Tenders or Check Tenders and click OK. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 20:
Select Panel > New Button. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 21:
Set the following fields from the SessionM Configure Tool (A) to the Properties Dialog (B). Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
- Text: LoyalTree
- Action: Run Application
- Application: [Copy Value from SessionM Configure Tool]
- Pass Parameters: True
Step 22:
Some versions of Aloha have a Save Panel selection in the Panel Menu. If so, please click Save before continuing. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 23:
- If the first printed receipt is the merchant copy, enter a 1 in the field to not print QR codes onto the merchant copy.
- If the merchant copy is printed after the customer copy then enter a 2 to not print QR codes on the merchant copy.
- Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 24:
The Configuration should now be complete. The Staging Files will now commence. The next screen will display the IP Address and Port information the terminals are communicating with. Once verified, click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 25:
Close the Aloha Manager then run the Aloha Manager again and login with the same access level as before. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 26:
Once logged back into Aloha Manager navigate to Utilities > POS > Refresh POS and All Installed Products. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 27:
Set Aloha to Automatically restart POS terminals. Then click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 28:
Aloha will now begin Updating Data. Once the progress bar has completed click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool.
Step 29:
- Go to each terminal after the reboot has completed and execute LoyalTreeTerminalSetup.exe.
- For the most efficient way of finding the executable use the windows search and type LoyalTreeTerminalSetup.
- Right-click on the file to Run as Administrator.
- Once completed click Next on the SessionM Configure Tool which will complete and close the menu.
Step 30:
Maximize the SessionM Installer and verify the installer is on the Menu Upload screen. If not, click Next and then Run Program to launch the Menu and Server Upload Tool. Then click Next on the SessionM Installer.
Step 31:
The Menu and Server Upload Tool will begin syncing the Menu and Server’s data with SessionM.
Step 32:
Once the Menu Upload has completed the updater should report success and the text above the bar will state that the update completed successfully.
Step 33:
If an error occurs, the upload tool will show a path to the loyaltree.log file. Escalate this issue.
